Science Fiction Author
Though I was born near Coventry in England, I was lucky enough to spend time as a child in wildly diverse places, including several years in Brazil, Belgium, and Malaysia.
After returning to the UK for university I eventually settled in New York, but I still travel avidly, something I use as inspiration and input to my writing.
I am a fan of hard sci-fi by masters such as Iain M. Banks, Peter F. Hamilton and Orson Scott Card, whose development of the Ender character still stands, for me, as one of the great evolutions in science fiction writing, if not in fiction as a whole. But the purpose and flow in Iain M. Banks's books stands alone as my all time favorite. He will be missed.
As for me, in my writing I try to combine my passion for hard, grounded science fiction with my passion for exploration. My first series, THE FEAR SAGA, takes place across the globe, from London to Brussels, Africa to Antarctica, the Hindu Kush mountains to the back streets of Tel Aviv. The few places in the books which I haven't been to in person I researched avidly, wanting to put my characters into the reality of their surroundings, and knowing that the settings for a story are often as important as the individuals you then paint into them.
If you have a question about my books, about the characters, the science behind the fiction, or even the locations, please feel free to reach out to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. I may not answer immediately, but I do reply to every email I get.
For now, I hope you will check out my books here and on Amazon, and that you will sign up for my newsletter or on Facebook to receive updates and short stories in the future.
Thank you for reading, -Stephen
